Kolkata, March 4, 2026: Godrej Properties Limited (GPL) has secured a prime five-acre land parcel located off the EM Bypass in Kolkata. The acquisition was finalized through an e-auction conducted by the West Bengal Housing Infrastructure Development Corporation Ltd (WBHIDCO). Based on current business assumptions, the proposed premium residential project is expected to generate an estimated revenue potential of approximately Rs 1,650 crore, the company said in a press statement.

The project is situated in one of Kolkata’s most upmarket and highly desirable residential localities. The EM Bypass corridor is recognized as a vital urban stretch, offering robust physical and social infrastructure that connects major neighborhoods including Salt Lake, New Town, Park Circus, Gariahat, and Garia. Its proximity to commercial hubs, IT-ITeS clusters, and leading healthcare facilities, combined with the under-construction Garia–Airport metro line, establishes the area as a future-ready micro-market with excellent connectivity to Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose International Airport.

Gaurav Pandey, MD & CEO of Godrej Properties, emphasized the strategic value of this expansion within the West Bengal capital. “Kolkata’s homebuyers are increasingly seeking neighbourhoods that offer strong connectivity, dependable social infrastructure, and homes aligned with evolving lifestyle needs. The EM Bypass micro-market reflects this shift, making it an important location for us to deepen our presence,” Pandey stated.

The developer aims to leverage the location’s high demand to create a modern living space that meets contemporary standards. Highlighting the company’s vision for the site, Pandey added, “With this acquisition, we endeavour to create a well-planned residential community that supports quality living, adapts to how families want to live today, and continues to deliver long‑term value for our customers.”
