Assotech Realty Collaborates with Atmosphere Core to Develop Hospitality Project in Shirdi

Sandal suites scaled

New Delhi, March 13, 2026:

In a move signaling the rapid modernization of India’s spiritual tourism hubs, Assotech Realty has announced a strategic collaboration with international hospitality firm Atmosphere Core to develop a premier all-suite property in Shirdi, Maharashtra. Under the partnership, Assotech will invest approximately ₹200 crore to construct the first-of-its-kind 160-suite development, which will be operated and managed by Atmosphere Core.

The project features expansive 45-square-metre suites designed to cater to a shifting demographic of travelers, including High Net Worth Individuals (HNIs) and Non-Resident Indians (NRIs) who seek international-standard accommodations while on pilgrimage. The development comes as Shirdi—which draws roughly 25 million devotees annually—transitions into a structured tourism ecosystem supported by improved road connectivity, enhanced airport access, and regional infrastructure investments.

Neeraj Gulati, Managing Director of Assotech Realty, highlighted that the project is part of a broader urban evolution within temple towns. “Shirdi has always held immense spiritual significance. However, what we are witnessing today is the beginning of a broader urban evolution. Infrastructure development, improved connectivity and rising domestic tourism are collectively shaping the town into a well-rounded travel destination,” Gulati stated. “Our collaboration with Atmosphere Core reflects our belief that spiritual destinations deserve thoughtfully designed hospitality experiences that respect their cultural essence while meeting modern traveller expectations. This project is not merely about adding rooms to the city’s inventory; it is about contributing to Shirdi’s next phase of growth as a holistic tourism hub.”

Gulati further noted that this is one of several such projects Assotech plans to develop across India’s major pilgrimage, business, and leisure destinations, specifically targeting the “new-generation” devotee. “We are developing an all-suite property with comfortable accommodations to meet the demand of new-generation devotees. Particularly, millions of NRI and HNI, including devotees, prefer extended stays and properties with all-suite luxury accommodations,” he added.

Atmosphere Core, which currently operates nine private island resorts in the Maldives and is expanding across South Asia and Italy, views the partnership as an entry into a high-demand, culturally significant market. Mr. Salil Panigrahi, Co-founder and Managing Director of Atmosphere Core, emphasized the changing expectations of modern travelers. “India’s spiritual tourism sector is entering a new phase where destinations like Shirdi are witnessing more structured tourism demand alongside devotional travel. Travellers today expect comfort, curated experiences and globally benchmarked service even when visiting pilgrimage centres,” Panigrahi said.

The collaboration is expected to significantly impact the local economy by generating employment and enhancing the overall visitor experience. As the project integrates modern luxury with the serenity of Shirdi, it aims to establish a new benchmark for hospitality in India’s spiritual heartlands, contributing to the city’s expanding luxury tourism footprint and supporting its growth as an experiential travel destination.
