HMG Stones Becomes First Indian Natural Stone Company to Secure Dual ISO 9001 and 5S Gold Grade Certifications

Bengulaur, April 15, 2026: HMG Stone LLP has become the first company in the Indian natural stone industry to simultaneously secure ISO 9001:2015 and 5S Gold Grade certifications. The dual honors, which recognize excellence in quality management and workplace organization, cover the company’s primary manufacturing units in Attibele and Yadavanahalli, as well as its flagship showroom in Wilson Garden and the Sankey Road Experience Centre, the company said in a press release.

The ISO 9001:2015 certification, accredited by DAkkS through TUV India Private Limited, validates the firm’s Quality Management System. Concurrently, the 5S Gold Grade was conferred by the Japan-headquartered ABK-AOTS DOSOKAI following a rigorous assessment of the company’s operational discipline. By integrating the Japanese 5S framework—Sort, Set in Order, Shine, Standardize, and Sustain—with ISO quality governance, the company has successfully embedded a culture of auditable and consistent daily discipline.

This transformation has yielded significant operational results on the shop floor, including a reported 80% reduction in tool search time and a 50% decrease in machine downtime. Furthermore, the defect and rework rate has plummeted by 75%, directly impacting the company’s ability to meet strict architectural specifications. The program emphasizes safety and efficiency, moving beyond mere compliance to foster an environment where employee ownership drives performance.

Reflecting on the milestone, Anand Reddy, Founder & CEO of HMG Stones, emphasized that these standards are central to the company’s identity. “Achieving ISO 9001 and a 5S Gold Grade is not a plaque on the wall; it is a daily habit. In a heavy machinery, dust and slurry-intensive manufacturing environment, discipline shows in how we maintain cleanliness of our units, quality of material, prevention of defects, safety of our employees, and most importantly consistently doing so. This programme has elevated pride on the shop floor and strengthened credibility and trust for customers, slab after stone slab,” Reddy said.

For the end consumer and architectural partners, these certifications translate to tangible project benefits. Beyond the aesthetic appeal of natural stone, the institutionalized processes ensure consistent finishes, predictable lead times, and enhanced product traceability. By standardizing every stage from sourcing and processing to inspection and delivery, the company aims to reduce the need for on-site rework and provide high-level confidence in project outcomes.

As HMG Stones continues its growth trajectory, the company views these global benchmarks as strategic enablers for international competitiveness. The integrated ISO–5S program, which began its journey in early 2024, serves as a foundation for Total Quality Management (TQM). By reinforcing safety through regular training in fire safety, emergency drills, and waste management, HMG Stones is positioning itself as a design-led brand capable of maintaining global standards at scale, the press release added.
