Lucknow / Greater Noida: In a strategic move to foster a more professional, competent, and accountable real estate sector in Uttar Pradesh, the U.P. Real Estate Regulatory Authority (UP RERA) launched its 37th Real Estate Agent Training Program on Monday. The four-day initiative commenced at the NIET campus in Greater Noida, organized in academic collaboration with Chhatrapati Shahu Ji Maharaj University (CSJMU), Kanpur, UP RERA said in a press release.

The program currently hosts 51 participants from various districts across the state, all of whom aspire to work as certified and registered real estate agents. The formal inauguration was conducted virtually by UP RERA Chairman, Sanjay Bhoosreddy, while Deputy Secretary Pankaj Saxena performed the traditional lamp-lighting ceremony on-site. The event also saw the virtual presence of UP RERA Secretary Mahendra Verma and Financial Advisor Sudhanshu Tripathi, alongside Assistant Professor Mohit Awasthi representing CSJMU.

During his address at the inaugural session, UP RERA Secretary Mahendra Verma emphasized that the training and certification system is a powerful step toward making the state’s real estate sector more disciplined and compliant with legal frameworks. He noted that the curriculum is designed to provide participants with both detailed and practical knowledge of the essential provisions, rules, and regulations of the RERA Act.

Highlighting the historical hurdles faced by the industry, Verma remarked that past challenges have negatively impacted promoters, agents, and homebuyers alike. He stated that RERA was established specifically to ensure transparency, accountability, and the protection of consumer interests. “This system of training and certification is a strong step towards operating the real estate sector in the state in a more disciplined, accountable and rule-compliant manner,” mentioned Mahendra Verma, Secretary of UP RERA.

The Secretary further clarified that the program concludes with a mandatory examination. Only successful candidates will receive certificates, rendering them eligible to register as licensed real estate agents. He added, “UP RERA’s goal is not only to ensure compliance with the rules but also to create a transparent, trustworthy, and responsive real estate system in Uttar Pradesh, which can further strengthen the public’s trust in this sector.”

The first day of the program featured an in-depth session conducted by Raghavendra on the “RERA Act, UP RERA Rules and Regulations.” The session covered critical aspects such as project registration procedures, promoter responsibilities, and various compliance requirements. Participants were also educated on the registration, renewal, and cancellation processes for agents, as well as punitive provisions, project account guidelines, and the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA). Candidates who clear the final exam on the fourth day will be granted registration as real estate agents upon payment of the prescribed fees.
