Ranbir Kapoor Acquires Luxury Land Parcel in Ayodhya’s Landmark ‘The Sarayu’ Project

Mumbai, May 15, 2026: In a major boost to Ayodhya’s burgeoning status as a premier spiritual and investment hub, Bollywood icon Ranbir Kapoor has officially invested in a land parcel at “The Sarayu.” The luxury development is a flagship project by The House of Abhinandan Lodha (HoABL), marking a high-profile endorsement of the city’s rapidly evolving real estate market. The transaction, valued at ₹3.31 crore for a 2,134 sq. ft. plot, underscores the intensifying demand for branded land developments in a city undergoing a massive economic and infrastructural overhaul, HoABL said in a press release.
The investment is situated within a 75-acre landmark development along the banks of the Sarayu River. The project aims to redefine land ownership by blending spiritual heritage with modern luxury, featuring a grand clubhouse, over 35 lifestyle amenities, and a five-acre, strictly vegetarian luxury hotel managed by The Leela. Strategically located near key spiritual landmarks, the project offers investors a unique entry point into Ayodhya’s historic transformation, backed by a planned ecosystem and clear land titles.

Reflecting on his decision to invest in the spiritual capital, Ranbir Kapoor emphasized the personal significance of the move. “I believe Ayodhya has chosen me, and I have just answered this calling. Ayodhya is deep rooted in our history and is a critical part of our cultural fabric. This land at The Sarayu became my gateway to ensuring this becomes a part of my legacy for my family. HoABL made this journey seamless, transparent and easy with their fully digital process,” the actor stated.

Abhinandan Lodha, Chairman of The House of Abhinandan Lodha, noted that Kapoor’s investment mirrors a broader trend of discerning buyers viewing Ayodhya as a strategic, future-forward destination. “Ayodhya stands at the centre of India’s cultural and spiritual resurgence, with a clear long-term growth trajectory driven by infrastructure, tourism, and global attention. With The Sarayu, we are creating a benchmark for spiritually rooted, world-class land developments. Ranbir Kapoor’s investment reflects the growing conviction among discerning buyers who are looking at Ayodhya not just emotionally, but also as a strategic, future-forward destination,” Lodha said.
The city’s transformation is supported by staggering tourism data and significant public spending. Government estimates reveal that visitor numbers surged from 5.75 crore prior to the temple construction to 23 crore in the first half of 2025 alone, with projections reaching 50 crore by year-end. With over ₹85,000 crore funneled into roads, rail, and airport connectivity, Ayodhya has transitioned from a quiet pilgrimage town into a sophisticated smart city. Reports from Liases Foras suggest that by 2030, the city could host up to 280 million annual visitors, surpassing the combined footfall of global spiritual hubs like Mecca and the Vatican.
