MFTBC Establishes Technical Centre in Chennai with COWRKS

Chennai, June 18, 2026: COWRKS, a provider of flexible and managed workspaces, has announced that Fuso Tech Centre India Private Limited (FTCI) will occupy 30,600 sq. ft. of managed workspace by COWRKS at Gateway Office Parks in Chennai. FTCI was established by Mitsubishi Fuso Truck and Bus Corporation (MFTBC) and is a part of the Archion Group. The centre, which became operational in March 2026, serves as MFTBC’s global hub for research and development, customer service, IT, and key operational functions. According to a press release, the new Fuso Tech centre is expected to enable stronger integration across product development, after-sales, and IT services. Building on the technical expertise developed within the Archion Group, MFTBC has consolidated and reorganized these capabilities within its own structure to further enhance efficiency and innovation.
Designed and delivered under Enterprise Plus, COWRKS’ end-to-end managed office solution, the workspace is purpose-built to support advanced engineering and technology functions. The facility includes collaborative work zones, a dedicated design studio, advanced Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) testing systems, and a diagnostic laboratory, enabling faster development cycles, enhanced safety, and improved product quality. This association further strengthens COWRKS’ Enterprise Plus portfolio, reinforcing its leadership in delivering customized managed workspace solutions for global organizations and engineering-driven enterprises.
Commenting on the partnership, Mattew Parambil, Vice President & National Head – Revenue, COWRKS, said: “Our collaboration with Fuso reflects COWRKS’ ability to design and deliver highly specialised, future-ready workspaces that go beyond standard office environments. With our end-to-end expertise in building and managing bespoke solutions, we’ve created a space that enables high-performance teams to collaborate seamlessly and accelerate innovation.”
Highlighting the choice of location and execution, R. Mahaganesh, Associate Vice President, Fuso Tech Centre said: “The establishment of the Fuso Tech Centre in India marks a significant step in strengthening our global engineering and innovation capabilities. Chennai offers a strong talent ecosystem, making it an ideal location. A key priority for us was to create a workspace that supports both productivity and employee well-being, while ensuring minimal disruption during the transition. Despite a tight timeline, the COWRKS team delivered this entire workspace in just 42 days, which is truly commendable. Their ability to design and manage a highly specialised, technology-driven environment allows us to stay focused on our core priorities while enabling seamless collaboration and innovation.”
The launch aligns with broader economic trends, as India continues to emerge as a key hub for Global Capability Centres (GCCs), driven by its deep talent pool, cost advantages, and a rapidly evolving innovation ecosystem. The demand for flexible and managed workspaces remains strong as global enterprises increasingly seek scalable, technology-enabled environments to support specialized and innovation-led operations. This momentum is supported by market data, with a recent CBRE report showing India’s office leasing crossed 82.6 million sq. ft. in 2025, with GCCs driving over 40 percent of that overall demand.
