Addressing the gathering, Anand Kumar, IAS, Chairman, AIFORERA and Delhi RERA, said India’s real estate sector is expected to emerge as a multi-trillion-dollar industry over the coming decades, but achieving this potential will require enhanced investor confidence, stronger compliance, and future-oriented planning.

“RERA has played a significant role in restoring trust among homebuyers, investors and developers. However, every stakeholder must fully understand and discharge their responsibilities under the law to ensure sustainable growth of the sector,” he added.

Shri Kumar stressed the importance of long-term urban planning, technology adoption, and cost-efficient development models. He noted that emerging segments such as commercial real estate, data centres, senior living, and alternative investment avenues are opening new opportunities for growth. He further underscored the need for large-scale skilling initiatives to improve workforce productivity and strengthen the sector’s competitiveness.

Speaking at the conclave, Dr. Niranjan Hiranandani, Chairman, NAREDCO, said India is witnessing a historic phase of nation building supported by strong economic growth, rapid urbanization, and transformative infrastructure development.

“Real estate today extends far beyond housing and includes commercial assets, logistics parks, data centres, healthcare and education infrastructure. The next phase of growth will be driven by AI, digital technologies, industrialized construction, sustainability and deeper collaboration between government and industry,” he added.

Dr. Hiranandani highlighted the growing role of AI in project management, customer engagement, facility management, and energy optimization, while stressing the need for faster, greener, and more efficient construction methods. He also drew attention to the acute shortage of skilled construction workers and called for a coordinated national effort involving government, industry, and institutions to bridge the skill gap. He expressed confidence that the next five years would be more transformative for Indian real estate than the previous twenty-five years.

He pointed out that as India moves towards Viksit Bharat 2047, stronger collaboration between government and industry will be essential for creating smart, green, inclusive, and sustainable cities. Shri Jain noted that real estate remains one of the country’s largest employment generators after agriculture and plays a pivotal role in attracting investments, building infrastructure, and fulfilling the dream of home ownership for millions. He also highlighted NAREDCO’s efforts to promote innovation, ethical governance, sustainability, and responsible leadership among the next generation of developers.
