Canonicus Capital Appoints Rajan Gupta as Managing Director Following Deployment of 75% Corpus

New Delhi, October 1, 2026: Canonicus Capital announced the elevation of Rajan Gupta to Managing Director, following the deployment of 75% of the firm’s Rs 300 crore investment corpus.
The milestone represents the deployment of approximately Rs 225 crore of committed capital and marks a key stage in Canonicus Capital’s development as an execution-led investment platform focused on disciplined capital deployment and long-term value creation.
Gupta, who has played a central role in establishing the firm’s investment philosophy and operating framework, will assume the expanded leadership mandate as Managing Director. In this role, he will oversee the firm’s investment strategy, capital allocation, portfolio operations, and continued institutional development.
Canonicus Capital follows an execution-led investment framework spanning Identify, Underwrite, Structure, Execute, Operate, and Compound Income, supported by a disciplined approach to capital allocation and portfolio management. The elevation of Gupta to Managing Director reflects the firm’s next phase of growth as it transitions from initial capital deployment toward active portfolio management and the continued compounding of invested capital.

Speaking on the milestone, Rajan Gupta, Managing Director of Canonicus Capital, said, “The deployment of 75% of our initial corpus is an important milestone, but we view it as a measure of execution rather than an endpoint. Our focus remains on disciplined underwriting, thoughtful structuring and building businesses and assets that can compound income over the long term.”
Canonicus Capital remains focused on maintaining a selective investment approach, disciplined underwriting standards, and long-term alignment of capital with its investment objectives.
