Profit before interest, depreciation, and tax stood at Rs 164.49 Crores, while profit before tax was recorded at Rs 29.02 Crores, down from Rs 104.97 Crores in the year-ago quarter. Net profit dropped to Rs 20.88 Crores from Rs 82.33 Crores reported in Q2 FY26.
For the first six months of FY27, the company’s total sales volume reached 65.81 lac tonnes with net sales of Rs 3521.70 Crores. Net profit for the six-month period stood at Rs 127.65 Crores. On sustainability initiatives, the company shared that it is implementing a project to enhance its thermal substitution rate from 4 percent to 16 percent in a phased manner at its Sirohi cement plant. Additionally, the share of renewable green power in the company’s power mix reached 48 percent during the quarter.
Detailing capital expenditure plans, the company announced it is setting up a railway siding at its Durg cement plant at a cost of Rs 325 Crores, funded through Rs 225 Crores in debt and the remainder through internal accruals, with the first phase already completed. The company is also expanding capacity at Durg with a new clinkerization line of 2.30 million tonnes per annum and three grinding units totaling 4.6 million tonnes per annum. The Rs 3000 Crore project will be funded through debt and internal accruals and is expected to be completed by March 2028.
Regarding industry performance, cement demand is expected to improve during the second half supported by the peak construction season, though elevated petcoke prices and geopolitical uncertainties may keep fuel, freight, and packaging costs under pressure. Intense competition could restrict cost pass-through, keeping margins under pressure with recovery dependent on price realisations and input cost moderation.
