SAIL Bhilai’s COVID care unit opened
Union Minister for Petroleum & Natural Gas and Steel Dharmendra Pradhan inaugurated the 114-bed COVID care unit at SAIL’s Bhilai Steel Plant on June 10 through an online programme.
The unit, which has been set up close to the steel plant, has the facility of direct gaseous oxygen supply from the plant through a dedicated gas pipeline. The beds in the facility will be soon scaled up to 500, said a press release issued by SAIL.
Bhilai’s facility is the fourth COVID care unit which has been set up by SAIL under its plan to set up jumbo units with 2,500 additional beds having direct gaseous oxygen facilities.
