TOILET VAASTU

Toilet is among the most important spaces in the house. Still, it is surprising to see how most people completely ignore this space when it comes to planning, arranging or even decorating  it.

A toilet is a sanitation fixture used primarily for the disposal of human waste products. Toilets are often found  in a small room referred to as a toilet,  bathroom or lavatory. Ancient civilisations used toilets attached to simple flowing water sewage systems including in those of the Indus Valley Civilisation. Toilets have come a long way over time, and today’s models of toilets are engineered to save water.

While a lot of  us may want  to save that  extra money that may go in decorating the toilet, scientific Vaastu lays down certain basic principles to be followed while positioning the toilet in the house.

Placement of the toilet is most important for the health and wealth of the inmates living there. If toilet is placed at an undesirable place then surely it would lead to major problems such as financial loss, health problems, mental tension and stress etc.  Scientific Vaastu lays down  rules for  the placement of toilets so that it won’t  create any complication for any occupant.

Here are some rules for placement of the toilet:

• Toilets should be placed in North-West corner of the building.
• For an attached toilet too, the North-West side of the room is recommended as per Vaastu.
• Lord Shiva holds the North-East direction and is the most pious direction, so one should never place the toilets here.
• Toilets in North-East bring disastrous health issues, accidents, problems  in  progeny  and unnecessary tensions.
• Toilets in  North-East can  adversely affect  the finances and prosperity of the family.
• Toilets in South-West direction directly affect the head of the family in terms health and wealth
• Toilet seats should ideally be placed in either South to North directions or West to East direction.
• Toilet doors  should  be either  in the  North-East  or East walls.
• Mirrors  should be placed on the North  or East walls only.
• Toilets in South-East create accidents with electricity and problems in electricity gadgets.
• Toilets in the  South-East create unexpected  losses, problems,legal issues,taxation problems.
• Toilets should  always face the North  or South and never be east or west.
• Toilets should be on the West or the North-West side of the room with should be a few inches above the ground.
• The we should never come in front of the bathroom door.
• Toilets shouldn’t be placed under the stairs.
• Toilets are not at all good  in the central area of the building structure.
• Toilets should not be made near the Puja room or the kitchen.
• Puja rooms and kitchens above the toilet are not at all Vaastu-friendly.
• Sinks should be placed on the North-East, North, or East sides of the room.
• Bathtubs should be located on the North-East,West, or East sides.
• Bathroom walls should be painted white,sky blue, or other light shades.
• Bathroom walls should not be painted with black or dark red colours.
• Water should  leave the bathroom from  the East or North-East side.
• Water  should  not leave from  the  South-West  or South-East directions.
• The overhead septic tank  should  be on the  North­ West side of the house.
• WC should  always be on the South-East or North­ West side and facing North or South.
• WC should  never be placed just below the running stairs.
• The bigger  window should  be on the North  and a smaller one in the West.
• The  doors  of  the  toilet  should  be  placed in  the Eastern sides.
• Mirror should always be on the East or North wall.
• The WC should never come in front of the bathroom door.
• Wardrobe should always be on the South-West side of the toilet.
• The slope of the bathroom floor should be towards North and East so water drains to the North-East side of the bathroom.
• The  suitable  directions   for  keeping   the  washing machine are South-East and North-West
