Ambience Mall Expands Culinary Portfolio with Opening of Global Japanese Curry Chain CoCo Ichibanya
Gurugram, April 6, 2026: Ambience Mall, Gurugram, has announced the expansion of its dining offerings with the opening of CoCo Ichibanya, the internationally acclaimed Japanese curry house. Located on the mall’s third floor, the new outlet spans approximately 3,000 sq. ft. and features a seating capacity for 52 guests. The launch introduces a globally recognized Japanese curry dining format to the mall’s evolving food and beverage mix, catering to the city’s growing appetite for diverse international cuisines.

Originating in Japan in 1978, CoCo Ichibanya is widely regarded as the world’s largest Japanese curry chain. The brand is well-known for its signature curry-and-rice offerings, which combine consistency with a high degree of customization. By providing a dining experience that is both familiar and distinctive, the chain’s entry into the Gurugram market reflects its ongoing global expansion strategy and its popularity across international borders.
The addition of the Japanese major aligns with Ambience Mall Gurugram’s broader strategy to strengthen its portfolio through established global brands. Positioned as both an accessible everyday dining option and a specialized international offering, the restaurant adds significant depth to the mall’s culinary landscape. The move reinforces the mall’s status as a destination that integrates premium retail with a thoughtfully curated selection of lifestyle and dining experiences.

Arjun Gehlot, Director of Ambience Group, commented on the significance of the new opening and the changing landscape of retail dining. “Consumer preferences today are evolving towards experiences that feel both authentic and globally relevant,” Gehlot said. “CoCo Ichibanya brings a strong international identity along with an offering that is approachable and versatile. At Ambience Mall, our focus remains on curating a balanced and contemporary mix, and this addition further strengthens that direction.”
