Amitabh Bachchan Expands Ayodhya Real Estate Portfolio With Rs35-Crore Land Acquisition
Mumbai, March 6, 2026: Legendary actor Amitabh Bachchan has acquired a 2.67-acre land parcel in Ayodhya for Rs35 crore from the House of Abhinandan Lodha (HoABL), according to a company announcement on March 6, 2026. The transaction, executed by AB Corp Ltd. Managing Director Rajesh Yadav, marks the actor’s third investment in the city through the same developer. The land is situated near “The Sarayu,” a 75-acre luxury development on the banks of the Sarayu River where Bachchan first invested in January 2024.
The acquisition reflects a broader trend of high-profile investment in Ayodhya, which has seen a significant shift in its real estate landscape following large-scale, government-led infrastructure projects. Projections indicate that the city, which recorded 23 crore visitors in the first half of 2025, could see up to 50 crore visitors by the end of the year. This surge in spiritual tourism has positioned the region as a focal point for urban renewal and long-term land investment.

Commenting on the continued association, Mr. Abhinandan Lodha, Chairman, The House of Abhinandan Lodha, said: “Mr. Bachchan’s investment reflects a shared belief in land as an inter-generational asset that preserves value over the long term. Faith in Ayodhya is a legacy shared by generations. At HoABL, we view land not merely as wealth but as a legacy. In Ayodhya, this legacy assumes a profound meaning — a ‘virasat’ where faith and inheritance come together. Supported by sustained infrastructure development and public investment, Ayodhya is emerging as a compelling destination for long-term land ownership and enduring value creation.”
While the town has become a magnet for high-net-worth individuals—with over 65% of HoABL’s customers comprising CEOs and CXOs from the BFSI and pharmaceutical sectors—the rapid appreciation of land values remains tied to the city’s ability to sustain its infrastructure growth. Industry observers note that while high-profile acquisitions from figures like Bachchan, Kriti Sanon, and Kartik Aaryan signal market confidence, the long-term viability of these investments will depend on the continued success of Ayodhya’s transformation into a major cultural and spiritual hub.
