New Delhi, September 15, 2016: Amplus Energy Solutions has successfully commissioned a solar rooftop power project for Fortis Healthcare Ltd. in Faridabad, Haryana. Another project for the company is currently under-construction in Gurgaon, Haryana.
The project in Faridabad is installed on a rooftop and under construction project in Gurgaon would be installed on a car park. Fortis has plans to install solar projects at its other hospitals across India over the next few years.
The Faridabad solar project has 160 numbers of 315 Wp dual glass modules. The capacity at the Gurgaon facility would beanother 60kW.
Apart from cost savings by using renewable source of energy, on an average a 100 kWp solar facility would reduce emissions by 3450 MT of CO2 over the life of the plant, which has the same effect on CO2 emissions as reducing consumption of 25,500 barrels of crude oil or planting 4300 trees.
Speaking about this project, Mr. Sanjeev Aggarwal, Managing Director & CEO, Amplus Energy said “Fortis has always been at the forefront for providing world-class healthcare services in India which is evident from there growth over the last several years. Healthcare sector is one of the critical area for India and we are extremely glad by the maturity of the leaders in this sector to adopt solar technology for their power consumption”.
Fortis Healthcare Limited is a chain of super specialty hospitals in India. It has its hospitals in Delhi, Amritsar, Kolkata, Navi Mumbai, Mohali, Ludhiana, Jaipur, Chennai, Kota, Bengaluru, Gurgaon, Noida, Faridabad, Mumbai, and Odisha.
In Haryana, it is mandatory to consume 3% of load through solar power for sanctioned load of above 1 MW.
In April 2016, Amplus also commissioned India’s largest single-location rooftop solar installation for captive use of 4,130 kW for Yamaha Motors in Noida and is currently installing solar plant for 15 stores owned by Walmart in India.
