Authorities in Noida approve Rs 20,160-cr Budget for FY ’17

The three development authorities of Gautam Budh Nagar – Noida, Greater Noida and Yamuna Authorities on Monday allocated Rs. 20,160 crore for their annual Budget for 2016-17.
The Noida Authority has allocated Rs. 9,024 crore against an annual Budget of Rs. 8,887 crore last year. Out of this, Rs. 1,500 crore has been allocated for metro projects and Rs.404 crore for construction of underpasses, flyovers and elevated roads. A total of Rs.192 crore has been earmarked for development of villages, Rs.220 crore for construction of multi-level parking lots, Rs.120 crore for development of parks, and Rs.132 crore for construction of roads, among other projects.
The Greater Noida Authority approved a Budget of Rs.7,074.87 crore for 2016-17. Last year, the authority had passed a Budget of Rs.6,994 crore. The authority allocated Rs.3,700crore for acquisition of land in 2016-17. “We need to purchase land for roads, bridges, industrial projects, landfill sites and development of parks. We have allocated Rs.1,295crore for other development projects. We will spend Rs.210 crore for development of villages in 2016-17,” a senior official of the authority, was quoted in the media as saying.
The Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) approved a Budget of Rs. 4,028.86 crore for 2016-17, officials said. Last year, it had passed a Budget of Rs.3,426 crore. “We have decided to spend Rs.1,500 crore on acquisition of land. We have earmarked Rs.912 crore for development projects. Another Rs.60 crore will be spent on development of villages,” said a senior YEIDA official.
