Mumbai, March 16, 2026: Bajel Projects Limited, a prominent player in the power transmission EPC sector, has secured an “ultra-mega” contract valued at over ₹700 crore from the Maharashtra State Electricity Transmission Company Limited (MSETCL). This milestone achievement marks the largest single order in the company’s history within the power transmission business. The project involves the turnkey execution of a massive 400/220 kV Air Insulated Switchgear (AIS) substation at Saswad in the Pune district, alongside the development of several associated transmission lines, the company said in a press release.

The comprehensive scope of the project covers everything from design and supply to the final testing and commissioning of the infrastructure. At its core, the Saswad facility will feature a greenfield 2×500 MVA substation equipped with a 1×125 MVAr Bus Reactor. To ensure the new hub integrates seamlessly into Maharashtra’s existing power grid, Bajel Projects will also undertake bay additions at three other substations and construct multiple high-voltage transmission lines using Line-In Line-Out (LILO) configurations. Strategically located to support the rapidly industrializing Pune region, the substation is designed with future expansion in mind to meet long-term energy demands and strengthen state-wide grid reliability.
