Pune, August 7, 2026: Carraro India Limited, an independent Tier-I provider for axles, transmission systems, and gears, reported its unaudited financial results for the quarter ended June 30, 2026, delivering a 12 percent year-on-year increase in total income to ₹5,587 million compared to ₹4,999 million in the corresponding period of the previous year. Net profit after tax grew 8 percent year-on-year to ₹314 million, up from ₹291 million in Q1 FY26, supported by strong performance in the domestic market. Earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortization, including other income, reached ₹579 million, reflecting a 6 percent year-on-year expansion with margins standing at 10.4 percent, Carraro India said in a press release.

The company’s overall operational revenue for the quarter reached ₹5,447 million, representing a 10 percent year-on-year growth. Performance across product segments showed a 15 percent increase in agricultural equipment revenue to ₹2,559 million and a 4 percent rise in construction equipment revenue to ₹2,264 million. Geographically, robust domestic demand drove a 26 percent increase in domestic revenue to ₹3,795 million. Conversely, export revenue declined 14 percent year-on-year to ₹1,652 million due to ongoing geopolitical uncertainties and uneven demand across key overseas markets.

Operations during the quarter were marked by strategic expansions across key product lines and engineering projects. Demand for domestic agricultural four-wheel-drive (4WD) axles grew as GST rate adjustments narrowed the price difference between post-GST 4WD models and pre-GST two-wheel-drive (2WD) tractors. In the construction segment, Backhoe Loader (BHL) driveline sales to Indian original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) rose by approximately 18 percent, outperforming the broader market growth of 14 percent.

The company also progressed with its Tele-boom Handler (TBH) axle ramp-up for international OEMs and initiated series production of high-horsepower tractor transmissions for a client in Turkey. Additionally, the engineering services division advanced its ₹175 million e-transmission project with Montra Electric, delivering a prototype order for field validation, and finalized ₹33 million in new engineering contracts in July 2026. Within the gears division, Carraro secured a business nomination from a major OEM for bull gears valued at approximately ₹150 million annually, effective FY28.

To support expanding operations, Carraro India initiated capital expenditure projects during the quarter, including the construction of a new paint-shop building and the commissioning of a side-drive sub-assembly line alongside a backlash machine to boost Portal axle and 4WD line capacity. These developments follow ₹417 million deployed in FY26 toward capacity expansion and telescopic-handler axle production.

“Carraro India reported a resilient start to the financial year. Q1 FY27 Revenue from operations increased by 10% year-on-year to INR 5,447 million, supported by sustained momentum in the domestic business. Domestic revenue grew by ~26% year-on-year, driven by robust demand for 4WD axles in the agricultural vehicle segment, despite uncertainty surrounding the monsoon outlook. Export revenue declined by ~14% year-on-year due to geopolitical disruptions and uneven demand across global markets,” said Dr. Balaji Gopalan, Managing Director of Carraro India Limited

“Profitability improved in absolute terms, with EBITDA rising by ~6% and PAT by ~8% year-on-year. EBITDA Margins were affected by higher energy and raw-material costs arising from geopolitical disruption, along with labour availability constraints. However, disciplined cost management and execution efficiencies helped contain the impact and sustain earnings growth.”

Looking ahead, the company aims to capitalize on strong domestic demand, capacity additions, and the ramp-up of new engineering and transmission programs to offset global market volatility. Carraro India plans to focus on cost discipline, improved capacity utilization, and operating efficiencies to support margin improvement throughout FY27 and achieve its long-term financial objectives.
