CBRE Flags Off 2 New Mobile Medical Units For Healthcare of Construction Workers
New Delhi, December 19, 2025: Leading real estate consulting firm CBRE South Asia Pvt. Ltd, under its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program ‘Ek Pehal’, has announced the addition of two new fully-equipped mobile medical units (MMUs) to improve healthcare access for construction workers. The units, which CBRE operates in partnership with the SMILE Foundation, were formally flagged off by Anshuman Magazine, Chairman & CEO, India, Southeast Asia, Middle East & Africa, CBRE, underscoring the company’s commitment to community welfare and accessible healthcare.
With the latest addition, the total number of such MMUs now stands at six. These MMUs operate across five major cities namely Mumbai, Bengaluru, Chennai, Hyderabad, and Delhi/NCR, offering OPD consultations to the construction workers across various sites. They also provide medicines and diagnostics, referrals and follow-ups, preventive health education aligned with government schemes, hospital networking, and capacity building for healthcare staff.
Introduced in 2024-25 under CBRE’s ‘Ek Pehal’, the MMU initiative has, directly and indirectly, reached nearly 1,00,000 construction and migrant workers, significantly improving their access to essential healthcare services. The two additional units would target another 48,600 beneficiaries this year.
Clinically, the initiative has made a measurable impact, with 4,029 OPDs conducted, 657 antenatal and postnatal care (ANC/PNC) cases supported, 1,547 patient referrals facilitated, and over 200 health awareness sessions delivered to promote preventive care and long-term wellbeing.

“At CBRE, we believe that building cities responsibly also means caring for the people who build them. Through EK Pehal and our partnership with SMILE Foundation, these mobile medical units are helping bridge a critical gap in healthcare access for construction and migrant workers. By taking essential medical services directly to worksites across key urban centres, we are creating a scalable, on-ground model that delivers preventive care, timely treatment, and long-term wellbeing,” said Anshuman Magazine, Chairman & CEO, India, Southeast Asia, Middle East & Africa, CBRE, at the ribbon-cutting ceremony.
“This initiative reflects our continued commitment to inclusive growth, sustainable communities, and making a meaningful difference where it matters most,” he added.
‘CBRE Ek Pehal’ is targeted to support migrant construction workers and their families across multiple identified areas, including education, healthcare, and slum infrastructure development across major cities in India. All the CSR initiatives under initiative, including the MMU program, are tailored to meet the specific needs of the communities, ensuring that the outcome is both relevant and effective. Leveraging the partnerships and resources, CBRE India has already made significant strides, impacting more than 2,50,000 lives since the onset of the ‘CBRE Ek Pehal’ in India in 2019.
All the CSR initiatives are aligned to UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), including SDG 2: Zero Hunger, SDG 3: Good Health and Well-being, SDG 4: Quality Education, SDG 6: Clean Water and Sanitation, SDG 10: Reduced Inequalities, SDG 11: Sustainable Cities and Communities.
