Kolkata, March 10, 2026: In a strategic move to bolster its presence across the eastern corridor, CIMCON Automation officially inaugurated its new regional office in Salt Lake City today. The expansion marks a significant milestone for the utility automation leader as it seeks to deepen its involvement in India’s ‘Atmanirbhar’ mission, specifically targeting water, lighting, and oil and gas infrastructure across Eastern and Northeastern India, the company said in a press release.

The new hub is designed to serve as the nerve center for the company’s regional operations, focusing on accelerating tender responsiveness and shortening project deployment cycles. By establishing a physical footprint in Kolkata, CIMCON aims to streamline coordination for large-scale domestic projects in smart utilities, defense, and industrial automation, ensuring a more agile approach to pan-India tendering.

Reflecting on the strategic importance of the move, Anil Agrawal, Founder & CEO of CIMCON Automation, highlighted the region’s evolving landscape. “Eastern India is entering a pivotal phase of infrastructure modernization, particularly in water and lighting utilities. Our Kolkata office reflects CIMCON’s commitment to being part of this progress — working closely with stakeholders to accelerate execution and help build smarter, more resilient infrastructure for the region’s future,” Agrawal stated.

The company has confirmed that the opening will be accompanied by a phased workforce expansion tailored to meet the demands of growing regional project loads. This localized talent surge is intended to facilitate closer engagement with both state authorities and private sector partners, reinforcing CIMCON’s long-term dedicated support for the ongoing digital transformation of public utilities.

CIMCON is no stranger to the territory, already maintaining an established track record with municipal corporations and government bodies throughout West Bengal, Bihar, Odisha, and Jharkhand. Their portfolio includes high-stakes collaborations with the Inland Waterways Authority of India (IWAI), the Public Health Engineering Department (PHED), and the Military Engineer Services for the Indian Air Force. This new office is expected to further solidify their influence in the Northeastern states, including Assam and Meghalaya.
