CISF Takes Charge of Security at Noida International Airport

Noida, September 23, 2025: The Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) has been formally inducted today as the designated aviation security agency at the upcoming Noida International Airport (NIA). The induction marks a significant milestone in the airport’s journey towards operational readiness ahead of its commercial launch.
The ceremony was attended by senior officials from the Government of Uttar Pradesh, CISF, and Noida International Airport, including
- Praveer Ranjan, IPS, Special DG Airports, CISF.
- Senthil Avoodai Krishna R, IPS, IG/Airport Sector;
- Rakesh Kumar Singh, CEO NIAL;
- Kiran Jain, COO NIA;
- Shailendra Bhatia, Nodal Officer NIAL;
- Sanjay Kataria, Regional Director, RO Delhi;
Noida International Airport becomes the 70th airport in the country to come under CISF cover. The Airport Sector (APS) and Aviation Security Group (ASG) of CISF will oversee the airport’s security. Their mandate includes:
- Perimeter and access control
- Passenger and baggage screening
- Terminal and landside security
- Deployment of Quick Response Teams (QRTs)
- Coordination with local law enforcement agencies
In the first phase, 1,047 CISF personnel will be deployed under the leadership of a Chief Aerodrome Security Officer (CASO). Deployment strength will be scaled up in line with operational requirements as passenger traffic and flight operations grow.

Special DG Airports, CISF, Praveer Ranjan said: “CISF is proud to take charge of aviation security at Noida International Airport. Our Aviation Security Group will implement globally benchmarked procedures and layered security measures to safeguard passengers, crew, and critical assets. We are committed to working closely with the airport operator and stakeholders to maintain the highest levels of security.”

With CISF formally taking charge of security, and major airline partners preparing to commence services, Noida International Airport is set to emerge as a world-class aviation hub for the National Capital Region and beyond.

Noida International Airport (IATA code- DXN) will connect the greater Delhi area and western Uttar Pradesh with other cities in India and the world. This world-class airport will combine Swiss efficiency and Indian hospitality to offer rich experiences and comprehensive commercial attractions and services to its passengers. NIA is committed to an ambitious net-zero emissions goal supported by sustainable design and operations principles.
Yamuna International Airport Private Limited (YIAPL) was established for the development, construction and operation of the greenfield project – the Noida International Airport. The company, a 100 per cent subsidiary of Zurich Airport International AG, is responsible for the implementation of the public-private partnership project in close partnership with the Government of Uttar Pradesh and the Government of India. The concession period for Noida International Airport commenced on October 1, 2021, and will run for 40 years. At its opening, the airport will feature one runway and one terminal and handle a capacity of 12 million passengers, with the potential for further development in additional construction phases.
