Construction Federation of India Marks Silver Jubilee, Focuses on Future Infrastructure Growth

Mumbai, October 13, 2026: The Construction Federation of India (CFI) celebrated its 25th anniversary with an event themed “25 Years of Building Excellence & the Future Ahead,” bringing together government officials and industry leaders to discuss the next phase of national infrastructure development, according to a press release.
The event featured a leadership panel that addressed technology adoption, mechanization, project delivery, governance, and sustainable infrastructure across the construction and engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) sectors.

“I congratulate CFI on completing 25 years of its contribution to India’s construction and infrastructure sector. Our vision is to ‘Reboot Mumbai, Reshape MMR and make the region more connected and accessible’, while unlocking new spaces and opportunities. The scale of infrastructure development ahead means there is enough work for everyone, but delivering it will require greater capacity, skills and resources. Indian contractors have already demonstrated their capability by successfully delivering projects such as the Metro, Coastal Road and Atal Setu, often undertaking such projects for the first time,” said Sanjay Mukherjee, Metropolitan Commissioner, MMRDA. He added that integrated infrastructure and technology aim to make urban mobility seamless for commuters.
Industry leaders emphasized the federation’s role in addressing operational and policy challenges to support national growth priorities.

“For 25 years, CFI has served as a collective industry platform to identify challenges, facilitate dialogue and advocate for a stronger and more enabling environment for construction and infrastructure development. The presence and support of the industry’s leading voices at this milestone reflect a shared commitment to strengthening the sector and advancing CFI’s vision for its future,” said M V Satish, President, CFI & Advisor to CMD, L&T Ltd.. He noted that the next quarter-century will require a future-ready, resilient, and globally competitive construction industry focused on improved project delivery and safety.
