CP67 Mall’s ‘Mysteries of Egypt’ Installation Records Spike in Visitor Turnout in Mohali

Mohali, June 17, 2025: CP67 Mall has transformed into an ancient Egyptian wonderland with its immersive installation on ‘Mysteries of Egypt’. Drawing over thousands of visitors since early this month, the mall’s month-long experiential installation is proving to be one of the city’s biggest seasonal attractions.

Bringing the grandeur and intrigue of ancient Egypt to life, the installation has transformed the mall’s central atrium into a walk-through world of pyramids, pharaohs and hieroglyphics.

Designed to appeal to both children and adults, the experience features puzzle-filled chambers, interactive storytelling, costumed characters and hands-on workshops. Visitors can participate in treasure hunts, decode ancient symbols and even learn to write their names in hieroglyphics.

Key highlights include live appearances by actors portraying royal guards and Egyptian deities, a replica sarcophagus that unveils hidden clues, whisper-activated chambers and towering Anubis statues at the entrance. A dedicated 10-foot video wall showcases animated stories based on Egyptian legends while the souvenir zone allows children to take home 3D-printed takeaways and personalised certificates.

“We wanted to do something different this summer, something that brings families together and turns the mall into more than just a shopping stop,” said Umang Jindal, CEO, Homeland Group. “The response has exceeded our expectations with footfall rising sharply over the past few weeks.”

The event, running through the end of June, comes at a time when shopping centres are looking to re-engage local audiences post-pandemic through creative, family-friendly programming.

Shoppers and visitors describe the atmosphere as “theatrical” and “unexpected”.

“It’s like walking into a movie set,” said Simranjeet Kaur, a parent from Chandigarh who brought her two children for a day-long visit. “They’ve been running from puzzle to puzzle for hours—we didn’t even make it to the food court yet.”

Developed by Unity Group and Homeland Group, CP67 Mall has consistently hosted thematic events in recent months, but this Egyptian-themed installation is among its most ambitious in terms of scale and storytelling.
