Highway Hub Signs MoU With Viva Apotek to Develop Retail Network

Highway Hub, a venture by the Pragati Group, has signed an MoU to form a Joint Venture with Viva Apotek (a Sinarmas Group Company, Indonesia) on March 11, 2026, to develop integrated retail network across way-side amenities (WSAs), fuel stations, and high footfall urban locations in India. The partnership aims to create a scalable, capital-efficient convenience store at a national level, tapping into the significant and largely untapped organised convenience store market.
With India’s increasing spend propensity and rising middle class organised convenience store will be required at major shopping hubs – big or small, residential or commercial, in city or express-way, at fuel stations or business parks.

Highway Hub is currently developing million sq. ft. of highway retail space across major express-ways and is expanding into other transit-led formats. Sharad Sachdeva, CEO at Highway Hub, believes that India’s infrastructure growth presents a unique opportunity to build an integrated convenience ecosystem that caters to both transit and urban consumers.
Under the partnership, Highway Hub will lead site development and infrastructure integration, while Viva Apotek will bring its brand, inventory and logistic management and retail expertise. Together, the two partners aim to roll out 500 stores in five years in a phased manner.
This collaboration also marks Highway Hub’s first step toward expanding beyond
highways into in-city locations and other transit oriented destinations such as airports, metro stations, and railways, aligning with its broader vision of building a pan-India retail platform anchored in mobility.
