New Delhi, April 7,  2026: In a significant move toward urban renewal, the Godrej Industries Group (GIG) has officially partnered with the Delhi Government’s Public Works Department (PWD) to spearhead the restoration and beautification of the Netaji Subhash Place (NSP) flyover. The project, which covers the critical stretch from Ring Road to the NSP Metro Station, aims to transform a major transit corridor in Northwest Delhi into a sustainable and visually appealing public space. A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed Tuesday in the presence of Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, marking a collaborative effort to tackle long-standing issues of encroachment and neglect in the area, the company said in a press release.

The NSP Flyover serves as a vital gateway for commuters traveling toward Rohini and Pitampura, but the spaces beneath the structure and the adjoining medians had recently fallen into disrepair. Officials noted that these underutilized areas had become hotspots for illegal dumping and urban blight. The new restoration initiative is designed to reverse this trend through a citizen-centric approach that aligns with the Delhi Government’s broader vision for a cleaner, more modern capital. The project will prioritize functional upgrades, including water-efficient irrigation and improved lighting to bolster pedestrian safety.

During the signing ceremony, Chief Minister Rekha Gupta emphasized the importance of reclaiming neglected urban pockets for the benefit of the public. “Revitalising under‑flyover spaces is an important step towards improving Delhi’s urban landscape and everyday experience for citizens. Meaningful public‑private partnerships enable us to restore neglected infrastructure into clean, safe, and well‑organised public spaces in a sustainable manner. Aligned with our vision of building a clean and beautiful Delhi, I appreciate the commitment shown by corporate partners like Godrej Industries Group in supporting the restoration and long‑term upkeep of the Netaji Subhash Place Flyover,” the Chief Minister stated.

The design strategy for the flyover focuses on long-term durability and safety, utilizing shade-tolerant landscaping that maintains clear sightlines for motorists while preventing the unauthorized use of the space. All planned interventions have been developed within the regulatory framework of the Delhi Government, ensuring close coordination with civic and enforcement agencies. By integrating these improvements, the project aims to create a more organized environment that discourages dumping and enhances the daily commute for thousands of residents.
