Hero Future Energies’ Green Hydrogen Project for Industrial Decarbonization Recognized at Aegis Graham Bell Awards

HFE Aegis Graham Bell Award

New Delhi, March 10, 2026: Hero Future Energies (HFE) has secured the Innovation in Climate Change Award at the 16th Aegis Graham Bell Awards for its pioneering work in industrial decarbonization. The ceremony, supported by the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, recognized HFE’s successful implementation of a green hydrogen project at Rockman Industries’ manufacturing facility in Tirupati, Andhra Pradesh. The project is being hailed as a critical breakthrough in blending green hydrogen with conventional fuels like PNG and LPG within industrial furnace applications, the company said in a press release.

The award-winning initiative features an annual production capacity of 25 tonnes of green hydrogen, providing a practical solution for sectors that have traditionally struggled to reduce their carbon footprint. By integrating hydrogen into existing thermal processes, the project is estimated to eliminate 206 tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions every year without compromising operational efficiency. This facility now serves as a replicable blueprint for high-emission industries such as metals, cement, and petrochemicals as they navigate India’s broader clean energy transition.

During the event, Srivatsan Iyer, Global CEO of Hero Future Energies, highlighted the strategic importance of the project for the future of manufacturing. “Decarbonizing industrial processes is one of the most critical challenges in the global energy transition. Our green hydrogen project at Rockman Industries demonstrates how emerging clean technologies can be integrated into existing industrial systems to meaningfully reduce emissions. At Hero Future Energies, we remain focused on developing scalable clean energy solutions that accelerate the transition to a low-carbon economy,” Iyer stated.

As the renewable energy arm of the Hero Group, HFE continues to expand its influence with a global portfolio of approximately 7.2 GW in operational and pipeline assets. The company is increasingly focusing on Firm and Dispatchable Renewable Energy (FDRE) by combining solar, wind, and storage technologies. This latest recognition at the Aegis Graham Bell Awards underscores HFE’s role in delivering reliable, low-carbon power to utilities and commercial customers across the country.
