CM Devendra Fadnavis Graces Pre-Opening Ceremony of K Raheja Group and IHG’s Mega-Hotel Project in Mumbai
Mumbai, March 30, 2026: K Raheja Group and IHG Hotels & Resorts on March 28 hosted a pre-opening puja ceremony for their upcoming mega-hotel project in Powai. The event, hosted by Vijayta Raheja, Nikhil K. Raheja, and Sudeep Jain, Managing Director (South West Asia) for IHG, was attended by the Chief Minister of Maharashtra, Devendra Fadnavis, signaling the project’s importance to the state’s economic and tourism goals.
According to a press release, the expansive development is designed as an integrated hospitality ecosystem featuring a dual hotel complex and a large-format convention center. With approximately 300 keys, 13 meeting rooms, four dining outlets, and vast event lawns, the project aims to bridge the gap in Mumbai’s high-end business and leisure infrastructure. Set to open later in 2026, the collaboration between the K Raheja Group and IHG is positioned to become a central hub for the city’s growing demand for international-standard event spaces.

During the ceremony, Vijayta Raheja praised the state’s leadership and the environment that allowed such a massive undertaking to flourish. She noted, “Maharashtra continues to lead as one of India’s most progressive and investment-friendly states, driven by a strong focus on infrastructure, ease of doing business, and forward-looking governance under the leadership of our dynamic Chief Minister. Developments such as these further strengthen the state’s position as a preferred destination for tourism, business, and global investments.”
Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis highlighted the strategic value of the Powai development, emphasizing its role in bolstering Mumbai’s reputation on the world stage. He stated that such large-scale integrated developments play a vital role in strengthening Mumbai’s position as a global destination for tourism, business, and international MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions). The Chief Minister extended his congratulations to both the K Raheja Group and IHG Hotels & Resorts, characterizing the venture as a landmark contribution to Maharashtra’s pro-growth vision.
