L&T’s Power Transmission & Distribution Business Secures Significant EPC Orders for Middle East Substations
New Delhi, May 13, 2026: The Power Transmission & Distribution (PT&D) business vertical of Larsen & Toubro (L&T) has bolstered its international portfolio by securing a series of “significant” Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) orders in the Middle East. Valued between ₹1,000 crore and ₹2,500 crore, these contracts involve the establishment of extra-high voltage substations for a group of prestigious clients. The expansion highlights L&T’s growing influence in the region’s energy sector as Gulf nations continue to upgrade their electrical infrastructure to support industrial growth and urban expansion, Larsen & Toubro (L&T) said in a press release.
The scope of the newly awarded contracts includes the construction of one 380 kV substation and two 132 kV substations. According to the company, these high-capacity installations are designed to provide a reliable power supply to large load centers and effectively decongest existing grids. By enhancing the stability and capacity of the local networks, these projects are expected to play a critical role in meeting the escalating energy demands of the region. The orders have been awarded on a turnkey basis, requiring L&T to adhere to stringent delivery timelines.
As a major global EPC player, L&T’s PT&D vertical operates across 30 countries, including the SAARC, ASEAN, Middle East, and Africa regions.
