Maharashtra Launches Three New Model Sub-Registrar Offices in Mumbai, Navi Mumbai, and Nagpur
Mumbai, September 24, 2026: The Government of Maharashtra, in partnership with VFS Global and WE Excel Software Pvt. Ltd., has expanded its technology-enabled property registration initiative with the launch of three new Model Sub-Registrar Offices across Mumbai, Navi Mumbai, and Nagpur. The new centers follow the initial launch of Maharashtra’s first Model Sub-Registrar Office in Pune.
Located in the Bandra Kurla Complex in Mumbai, Millennium Business Park in Navi Mumbai, and North Ambazari Road in Nagpur, the modern facilities are designed to handle property-related document registrations. Services cover sale deeds, lease deeds, gift deeds, powers of attorney, wills, and other instruments. The centers aim to streamline operations, reduce waiting times, and enhance transparency through end-to-end digital infrastructure and structured service delivery while existing government offices continue operating alongside them.
Ravindra Binwade, Inspector General of Registration (IGR), Government of Maharashtra, said, “Following the successful launch of Maharashtra’s first Model Sub-Registrar Office in Pune, we are pleased to expand this citizen-centric initiative to Mumbai, Navi Mumbai and Nagpur. These centres have been designed to provide a faster, more transparent and more convenient property registration experience through modern infrastructure, digital systems and streamlined service delivery. By reducing waiting times and enhancing service standards, we are making government services more accessible and efficient for citizens while maintaining strong governance and oversight. This expansion is another important step in our commitment to modernizing registration services across Maharashtra.”
The expansion is part of a five-year contract awarded in early 2026 to the consortium of VFS Global and WE Excel Software Pvt. Ltd. by the Inspector General of Registration and Controller of Stamps. Under the agreement, the consortium is tasked with the phased setup and operation of 60 Model Sub-Registrar Offices across the state, providing updated digital infrastructure and trained service teams to support optional, citizen-focused property registration services.
