NHB Organises Meeting with MD & CEOs of Housing Finance Companies, SFBs and RRBs at Guwahati

Guwahati, April 19, 2025: National Housing Bank (NHB) organized a meeting with managing directors and chief executive officers of housing finance companies, small finance banks and regional rural banks on April 17, 2025 at Guwahati on the theme ‘Unlocking Potential: Housing Finance as a Catalyst for North-East Development’. The programme was graced by Manoj Ayyappan, Joint Secretary, Department of Financial Services, Ministry of Finance, Government of India, Kuldip Narayan, IAS, Joint Secretary (HFA), Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs, Government of India who joined the meeting virtually, Sarika Pradhan, Secretary, Social Welfare Department, Government of Sikkim and Sanjay Shukla, Managing Director, National Housing Bank.
The event was attended by MD & CEOs of housing finance companies, senior officials of small finance banks and chairmen and senior officials of regional rural banks from five states of the North-East viz. Assam, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram and Tripura. A detailed presentation was made on the state and housing finance profile of North-East region. The speakers shared their views on how housing finance can be a growth catalyst for the development of North-East States. A presentation was made on PMAY 2.0 – Interest Subsidy Scheme for which NHB is a Central Nodal Agency. The sectoral, regulatory, supervisory and refinancing issues were also discussed in detail. During the meeting there was virtual inauguration of opening of a branch of PNB Housing Finance Limited and Aadhar Housing Finance Limited in Guwahati, Assam.
