Noida Authority Clears Path for 20,000 Homebuyers with Sector 150 Sports City Layout Approval
Noida, April 7, 2026: In a landmark decision for the regional real estate market, the Noida Authority board has approved the revised layout for the long-stalled Sports City project in Sector 150. The move, finalized during the Authority’s 222nd board meeting on Monday, is expected to resolve years of uncertainty for approximately 20,000 homebuyers who have been waiting for the possession or registry of their properties, media report said.

The approval marks the Authority’s formal compliance with a Supreme Court order issued in November 2025, which mandated a resolution for the ambitious but troubled infrastructure project. Chaired by Deepak Kumar, the Uttar Pradesh Infrastructure and Industrial Development Commissioner and Noida Authority Chairman, the board’s decision effectively unfreezes the administrative deadlock that had halted development and legal documentation in the sector.
Beyond the Sports City breakthrough, the board also outlined its fiscal roadmap for the coming year. A budget of ₹10,004 crore has been approved for the 2026-27 financial year, accompanied by an ambitious revenue target of ₹10,290 crore. This follows a challenging previous fiscal period where the Authority collected ₹6,589 crore against an initial target of ₹9,008 crore.
The revitalization of the Sector 150 project is seen as a critical step in restoring investor confidence in Noida’s premium residential corridors. By clearing the revised layout, the Authority has cleared the primary hurdle for developers to complete pending works and for the state to begin the registration process for thousands of flat owners, many of whom have been stuck in legal and financial limbo for years.
