SAIL-ISP COVID-care facility inaugurated

Union Minister of Petroleum and Natural Gas and Steel Dharmendra Pradhan on May 19 dedicated to the nation a 200-bed gaseous oxygen-equipped COVID-care facility at Burnpur set up by the SAIL-ISP Burnpur.
The facility, said a press release, is also equipped with 10 ventilators and eight ICU beds. SAIL-ISP Burnpur converted its 32 room Chhotadighari Vidyapeeth HS School into the COVID-care facility, added the release
Speaking on the occasion, Pradhan said the nation faced unprecedented demand of medical oxygen during the second wave of the COVID-19 pandemic. He expressed satisfaction that the steel sector had stood up during these testing times and worked on war footing basis to supply liquid medical oxygen in the country.
Minister of State for Steel Faggan Singh Kulaste, MoS Environment, Forest & Climate Change Babul Supriyo and MLA, South Asansol Agnimitra Paul and Soma Mondal, Chairperson SAIL, were also present at the event along with senior officials of the Ministry of Steel and SAIL.
