SAIL Partners with EdCIL to Deploy Smart Digital Classrooms Under CSR Initiative

New Delhi, May 28, 2026: Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL), a Maharatna company and the nation’s largest public sector steel producer under the Ministry of Steel, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with EdCIL (India) Limited to implement ‘Smart Digital Classrooms’ in schools surrounding its operational areas. The agreement, finalized on May 26, 2026, forms a key part of SAIL’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program. EdCIL operates as a public sector undertaking under the Ministry of Education, SAIL said in a press release.
The joint initiative focuses on promoting inclusive, equitable education and improving student learning outcomes. The project directly supports the core directives of India’s National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 as well as the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goal 4 (SDG-4), which targets high-quality education and lifelong learning opportunities for all.
The MoU was formally signed by representatives from SAIL and EdCIL in the presence of K. K. Singh, Director (Personnel), SAIL, alongside other senior executives from both public sector enterprises. No official quotes were issued in the final announcement text.
