SAIL Receives SCOPE Eminence Award for R&D, Technology Development, Innovation

New Delhi, August 29, 2025: Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL) has been conferred the prestigious SCOPE Eminence Award for R&D, Technology Development & Innovation for 2022–23.

The award was presented by President Droupadi Murmu to SAIL’s director (technical, projects and raw materials) Manish Raj Gupta at a ceremony organised by SCOPE in New Delhi on Friday.

This recognition underscores SAIL’s unwavering commitment to indigenous research, process innovation and sustainable technological advancement.

SAIL continues to drive innovation across the steel value chain and focus on indigenous development of advanced steel grades and technologies for critical applications, thereby reducing import dependency, in line with the vision of Aatmanirbhar Bharat and Make in India. The company continues to play a vital role in nation-building by supplying high-quality steel to strategic sectors such as the Railways, defence and infrastructure, enabling projects of national importance and industrial growth.

SAIL has adopted next-generation solutions, including IIoT-based health monitoring systems of its processes and Coil Yard Management Systems, to strengthen operational reliability and productivity. At the same time, the company maintains a strong focus on sustainability through waste reutilization, circular economy initiatives and integration of renewable energy sources.
