Smart City Mission Set in motion

Marking the first anniversary of his Government’s ‘ambitious Smart City Mission’, Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched 84 projects in Pune, entailing an investment of around Rs 2,000 crore. Besides, the PM also inaugurated a contest on ‘Make Your City Smart’ and a Smart Net Portal on the occasion. Hailing the mission as a “people’s movement”, the PM stressed upon treating urbanisation as an opportunity and the coming years are bound to prove it so.
