Noida, March 28, 2026:

Tata Projects Limited has completed Phase 1 of the Noida International Airport, marking the delivery of India’s first net-zero emissions aviation hub. Developed by Yamuna International Airport Private Limited – a subsidiary of Zurich Airport International AG – the facility is now ready for commercial operations. Located in western Uttar Pradesh, the airport is expected to increase aviation capacity in the National Capital Region and support regional economic and logistics growth, Tata Projects said in a press statement.

Tata Projects Delivers India’s First Net-Zero Milestone: Phase 1 of Noida International Airport Ready for Commercial Launch

The initial phase of the terminal, covering more than 1 lakh square meters, is engineered to manage an annual capacity of 12 million passengers. The infrastructure features a 3,900-meter runway designed for wide-body aircraft, a sophisticated Air Traffic Control tower, and a modern cargo terminal. Architecturally, the airport pays homage to regional heritage, incorporating a wavy roofline inspired by the Yamuna River and a forecourt reminiscent of traditional havelis, all while utilizing advanced digital systems to streamline passenger processing.

Celebrating the completion of the massive undertaking, Mr. Vinayak Pai, Managing Director and CEO of Tata Projects Limited, highlighted the collaborative effort behind the build. “The completion of Noida International Airport is a defining milestone in India’s infrastructure journey and reflects the capability required to deliver projects of national significance with precision, scale, and sustainability. This project also stands out for the way multiple Tata Group companies came together, contributing expertise across engineering, technology, systems, and project execution to deliver an integrated infrastructure asset of global standards. It is a powerful demonstration of Group strength in nation-building through collaborative execution,” Pai stated.

Sustainability remained a core pillar throughout the construction process, which saw a workforce of over 100,000 people delivering more than 85 million safe man-hours. The airport achieves its net-zero status through a combination of solar and wind energy, rainwater harvesting, and the use of sustainable construction materials. Regarding the environmental and collaborative success of the project, Pai added: “As India’s first net‑zero emissions airport, this development underscores our strong commitment to sustainable infrastructure, achieved through over 85 million safe man‑hours delivered by a workforce of more than 100,000 people. We are proud to have partnered with Yamuna International Airport Private Limited and Zurich Airport International to deliver a future-ready aviation hub that will enhance regional connectivity, support economic growth, and contribute meaningfully to India’s long-term infrastructure vision.”

Looking toward the future, the airport is designed for seamless multimodal integration, connecting directly to the Yamuna Expressway with planned links to metro networks. While Phase 1 is now operational, long-term expansion plans envision the hub eventually serving 70 million passengers annually. With two runways and dedicated aircraft maintenance facilities in its future blueprint, the airport reinforces Tata Projects’ role in delivering complex, large-scale infrastructure that aligns with India’s broader economic and environmental goals.
