Tata Projects Secures Integrated Acid Plant EPC Contract From GSFC in Gujarat

New Delhi, October 29, 2026: Tata Projects has secured an engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) contract from Gujarat State Fertilizers & Chemicals Limited (GSFC) to develop an integrated phosphoric acid and sulphuric acid complex at Sikka in Jamnagar, Gujarat, according to a press release issued by the company.
The project involves setting up a 600 metric tonnes per day (MTPD) phosphoric acid plant and an 1,800 MTPD sulphuric acid plant, alongside associated utilities and offsite infrastructure. The facility forms a core component of GSFC’s strategic expansion and backward-integration program, which aims to secure captive raw materials for phosphatic fertiliser production, decrease dependency on imported inputs, and strengthen overall operational resilience.
Under the contract, Tata Projects will handle the complete engineering disciplines, procurement, construction planning, and commissioning interfaces required for the interdependent chemical manufacturing units. The project expands the company’s footprint in specialized process industries, complementing its existing operations across the power, metals and mining, oil and gas, clean energy, and advanced manufacturing sectors.

“Built on sustained engagement with GSFC, the award demonstrates our ability to compete for and secure complex industrial projects through differentiated solutions and a compelling value proposition,” said Rajiv Menon, President & Chief Growth & Strategy Officer, Tata Projects. “As we expand our presence in chemicals, fertilisers and other specialised process industries, our priority remains to build a high-quality, diversified order book anchored in technical expertise, execution credibility and enduring customer partnerships.”
