UltraTech to Scale Up Supply Chain Electrification With Over 600 Electric Trucks
Mumbai, September 3, 2026: UltraTech Cement Limited announced plans to expand its logistics operations by scaling up its electric vehicle fleet to more than 600 heavy-duty electric trucks by December 2026, it said in a press release.
The company has signed service contracts with electric prime mover manufacturers, including Tata Motors, Ashok Leyland, IPLTech, Energy in Motion, and Sany, alongside their subsidiaries and third-party logistics providers.
The fleet will transport around 5 million metric tonnes of clinker and key materials annually across Gujarat, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh, Maharashtra, and Odisha. Once fully operational, the fleet is expected to deliver a net annual carbon dioxide reduction of over 1,17,000 tonnes, displacing roughly 39 million litres of diesel per year.

UltraTech previously introduced compressed natural gas trucks in 2021 and electric trucks in 2024. The company currently operates over 850 trucks in its green logistics fleet. Holding a grey cement capacity of over 200 million tonnes per annum in India, its electrification strategy covers operations ranging from mine-to-plant movement to inter-plant transportation.
