UP RERA Awards Certificates to 14th, 15th Batches of Agents

Lucknow/Gautam Buddh Nagar: The Uttar Pradesh Real Estate Regulatory Authority (UP RERA) awarded training certificates to candidates of the 14th and 15th batches of RERA’s “certification of agents training programme” at its Lucknow headquarters on Tuesday.

UP RERA chairman Sanjay Bhoosreddy handed over certificates to 100 successful trainees. Secretary Mahendra Verma, along with other senior officials of the authority, was also present on the occasion.

Several participants said that the training equipped them to work more professionally and would enable them to better guide property buyers and sellers.

Process of Certification Agent

To be registered as an agent with RERA, candidates are required to complete and pass a certification course.

It’s a four-day programme in which the first three days consist of intensive training sessions by subject experts. Trainees are educated about the Real Estate (Regulation and Development) Act, related laws, consumer rights, legal aspects of property transactions and the responsibilities of agents in ensuring proper services to their clients with transparency.

On the fourth day, candidates appear for a written examination. Only those who successfully pass this exam are awarded the certificate.

The training programme is conducted at the India Literacy Board, Lucknow, and the Noida Institute of Engineering and Technology, Greater Noida. The fees for the course is INR 6,000, and applications can be submitted online through RERA’s official website up-rera.in

Training Statistics So Far

So far, UP RERA has conducted 18 training batches. Results for up to the 15th batch have already been declared. According to official data, 1,508 candidates have applied for the programme, out of which 718 have completed the training.

Those who cleared the final examination have been awarded certificates and are eligible to work as real estate agents but only after obtaining registration by applying for registration on the portal of UP RERA.

“Our aim at RERA is to make the real estate sector more transparent and accountable. We want to strengthen the trust between consumers and developers, and trained agents play a vital role in this,” Bhoosreddy said.

“When agents are well-versed with the law and regulatory framework, they can provide proper guidance to homebuyers and property investors. This will help in reducing disputes and ensuring justice for consumers.”

He added that RERA views agents not merely as intermediaries in property transactions but as responsible stakeholders in safeguarding consumer interests. The training programme is designed to instil this sense of responsibility.

UP RERA is working on strengthening the training process further and may soon introduce online learning modules to make it more accessible to aspiring agents across the state, he said.
