UP RERA Launches Real Estate Agent Training Programme to Enhance Sector Transparency

Lucknow/Gautambuddh Nagar, July 1, 2026: The Uttar Pradesh Real Estate Regulatory Authority (UP RERA) has further strengthened its capacity-building initiative by launching the 42nd Real Estate Agent Training Programme. The four-day training programme commenced on Wednesday at the NIET Campus, Greater Noida, and is being conducted in collaboration with Chhatrapati Shahu Ji Maharaj University, Kanpur. A total of 45 participants from various districts across Uttar Pradesh are attending the sessions with the aspiration of becoming certified and registered real estate agents under the provisions of the RERA Act, UP RERA said in a press release.

The programme was formally inaugurated online by Mahendra Verma, Secretary of UP RERA, while the ceremonial lamp was lit at the venue by Revenue Recovery Officer Anshuman Singh and Deputy Secretary Pankaj Saxena. The inaugural session was also attended virtually by Principal Advisor Abrar Ahmad, Joint Secretary K.K. Singh, Additional Director (IT) Amrish Kumar, and Finance Consultant Sudhanshu Tripathi. Rishi Srivastava of Chhatrapati Shahu Ji Maharaj University, Kanpur, was present at the venue to represent the academic partner.

Addressing the participants, Sanjay Bhoosreddy, Chairman, UP RERA, said that the training and certification of real estate agents is a significant step towards making the real estate sector in Uttar Pradesh more disciplined, accountable, and compliant with regulatory provisions. He emphasized that the programme would provide participants with comprehensive knowledge of the RERA Act, relevant rules, and regulations, enabling them to perform their professional responsibilities more effectively.

Referring to the long-standing challenges faced by the real estate sector, the Chairman observed that these issues have adversely affected promoters, real estate agents, and homebuyers alike. He stated that RERA was established to address these challenges by promoting transparency, accountability, and consumer confidence. He further informed participants that an examination would be conducted upon completion of the training programme. Successful candidates would receive certification and become eligible to apply for registration as licensed real estate agents. He reiterated that UPRERA objective extends beyond ensuring regulatory compliance. The Authority aims to establish a transparent, credible, and consumer-centric real estate ecosystem in Uttar Pradesh, thereby strengthening public confidence in the sector.

On the opening day of the programme, the curriculum focused on foundational legal frameworks. Anshuman Singh, Revenue Recovery Officer, delivered a detailed session on the RERA Act, UPRERA Rules, and Regulations. This was followed by a session by Harpreet Singh, who explained the key provisions of the Uttar Pradesh Apartment Act, 2010. Additionally, Advocate Atul Singh conducted a session on the rights and responsibilities of allottees, providing participants with practical insights into consumer protection under the RERA framework.
