UP RERA to organize second National Lok Adalat on September 11

UP RERA is set to organize the 2nd National Lok Adalat through video conference on September 11, 2021. The Authority has decided to organize the National Lok Adalat at Lucknow Headquarters and Regional Office, Greater Noida on September 11, 2021 to resolve disputes of homebuyers. The U.P. State Legal Service Authority had sent a letter to the Authority on March 2021 along with a proposal to organize a National Lok Adalat at U.P. RERA on July 10, September 11, and December 11, 2021. Keeping in mind the interests of the homebuyers the approval was given by the U.P. RERA on 19 March 2021. The following points will be kept in view for organizing Lok Adalat:
- Lok Adalat will be conducted through an online medium.
- Anand Shukla, Legal Advisor, U.P. RERA is appointed as the Nodal Officer for organizing Lok Adalat.
- In the Lok Adalat, the officers nominated for the disposal of the pending cases are – Chairman Rajive Kumar, Members Kalpana Misra, Bhanu Pratap Singh and Balvinder Kumar Member. Also present would be Secretary Rajesh Kumar Tyagi, Adjudicating Officers Piyush Chandra Srivastava, Chaitanya Kulshrestha, Conciliation Consultants Surya Prakash Misra and RD Paliwal.
- Lok Adalat to begin at 10:30 am.
- For any information and assistance related to the National Lok Adalat, the parties can get it through the Helpdesk set up in U.P. RERA’s HQ in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh.
- Types of cases which have been approved by the Authority for disposal through Lok Adalat are – 1. Complaints filed before the Bench under Section 31 of the RERA Act in which mutual agreement is possible, or an application for the agreement has been filed by a party. 2. Complaints filed before the Adjudicating Officer, RERA under Section 31 of the RERA Act in which conciliation agreement is possible, or an application for the agreement has been filed by a party. 3. Execution suits under the RERA Act and pending suits under Section 63 can be settled under the Conciliation Agreement. 4. Prevailing and pending cases in front of the Conciliation Consultant of RERA in which settlement is possible on the basis of the reconciliation agreement or a party has filed an application for agreement. 5. Prevailing and pending cases before Secretary RERA in which settlement is possible on the basis of the reconciliation agreement. Secretary, U.P. RERA Rajesh Kumar Tyagi expressed satisfaction with regard to the organization of Lok Adalat and said, “Through Lok Adalat, homebuyers will get the opportunity for transparent amicable settlement and speedy disposal of their cases. The Lok Adalat will hear the same cases where settlement is possible on the basis of reconciliation agreement and the cases which have been pending for a long time. Uttar Pradesh RERA is continuously working hard and implementing new means for the quick redressal of complaints of the homebuyers”.
