WeWork India adds 700,000+ sq. ft. across Bengaluru, Hyderabad and Chennai

New Delhi, April 11, 2026: WeWork India Management Limited has announced one of its largest expansions to date, signing five major long-term lease agreements across India’s primary southern technology corridors. The deal adds over 700,000 square feet of Grade A office space and approximately 12,000 desks to its portfolio, spanning the high-growth markets of Bengaluru, Hyderabad, and Chennai, the company said in a press release.

The expansion is underpinned by a strategic collaboration with five prominent institutional landlords, including Embassy Office Parks, Madhu Ventures & Vista Spaces, Inspira Builders, and Phoenix Group Hyderabad. These lease agreements are structured for durations ranging from 10 to 20 years, signaling a shift toward more stable, partnership-led growth models in the flexible workspace sector. By securing space in landmark buildings, WeWork India aims to provide a consistent, design-led product for enterprises while helping asset owners future-proof their commercial properties.

The surge in demand is largely attributed to the rapid growth of Global Capability Centres (GCCs), technology firms, and multinational corporations. According to JLL data, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, and Chennai currently account for nearly half of India’s gross leasing activity. WeWork’s proactive investment reflects a “flex-first” strategy being adopted by major organizations looking for premium, agile workspace solutions in critical business districts.

Commenting on the expansion, Karan Virwani, Managing Director & CEO, WeWork India, said: “The South is not just a regional story, it is central to India’s next phase of enterprise growth. Bengaluru remains one of the world’s most dynamic technology markets, Hyderabad is scaling at an exceptional pace, and Chennai is emerging as a key hub for global delivery and financial services. Our decision to sign leases across five buildings, spanning over seven lakh square feet, reflects both our conviction in these markets and our ability to execute at scale. This is a long-term commitment, aligned with the sustained, structural demand we are seeing from enterprises adopting flex-first workplace strategies. At WeWork India, we are building the infrastructure for how India’s leading organisations will work in the decade ahead.”

The new footprint includes three major centers in Bengaluru: WeWork Embassy TechVillage 8C on Outer Ring Road, and both WeWork Vista Earth Centre and WeWork Infinix Palladium in the Whitefield district. Infinix Palladium stands out as the largest of the group, occupying an entire seven-story building. In Hyderabad, the company has secured space at WeWork Phoenix H10 in the bustling HITEC City corridor, while Chennai’s growth is bolstered by WeWork Embassy Splendid on Radial Road, targeting the city’s expanding BFSI and global delivery sectors.

With this latest move, WeWork India strengthens its presence to 37 centers in the southern region and a national total of over 1.21 lakh desks across eight cities. The company’s portfolio currently boasts a membership base that is 74% enterprise-led, ranging from early-stage startups to Fortune 500 companies. This scale reinforces the operator’s position at the forefront of the evolving commercial real estate landscape in India.
