March 29, 2026:
NAR-India, the national apex body for real estate transaction advisors, has announced its new leadership team following an annual convention in Mumbai that generated business engagements exceeding ₹3000 crore. The event, hosted by the AREA Group, drew over 1,800 delegates including developers, financial institutions, and major corporate groups such as Reliance, Tata, and Birla. The scale of the gathering underscored a significant trend toward organized brokerage, facilitating high-value B2B meetings and strategic partnerships across the residential, commercial, and retail sectors, the organization said in a press statement.
The convention featured a wide range of industry perspectives, with sessions led by prominent figures such as Dr. Niranjan Hiranandani and Hafeez Contractor, alongside addresses by Boman Irani and Savji Dholakia. These discussions provided a blend of policy insight and market strategy, establishing a professional benchmark for the industry. Sumanth Reddy, Chairman of NAR-India, noted that the convention demonstrated how deeper collaboration across stakeholders is directly translating into business velocity, improved trust and more structured deal flows across markets.
The newly appointed national leadership team is headed by Chairman Sumanth Reddy, Vice Chairman and Global Ambassador Tarun Bhatia, and President Chandresh Vithalani. Other key appointments include President-Elect Ashish Mehta, CEO Samir Arora, and Immediate Past President Amit Chopra. The executive body is supported by Vice Presidents Arvind Gupta, Ramkumar, Zakir Bhati, and Santosh Avalaki, alongside Honorary Secretary Chetan Chopra, Joint Secretary Sonia Sachdeva, and Organizing Secretary Mr. Appom. Regional operations will be overseen by Zonal Directors Abhimanyu Modi (East), Sivalingam M (South), Udayan Mane (West), and Brijesh Patel (Central).
Reflecting on the industry’s trajectory, Chandresh Vithalani, President of NAR-India, stated that the scale, diversity and outcomes of the convention signal a clear shift towards a more organised, transparent and professionally driven brokerage ecosystem in India. Ashish Mehta, President-Elect and Event Chair, emphasized the tangible results of the summit, saying, “This convention has gone beyond conversations to deliver measurable outcomes. The scale of participation, the quality of engagement and the volume of business generated reflect a clear shift in how the industry collaborates and transacts. What we have built here is not just an event, but a high-impact business platform that will continue to create opportunities and drive growth for stakeholders across the ecosystem.”
Moving forward, the new leadership team has outlined a strategic mandate focused on the formalization of the sector. Key priorities include advocating for a ‘One India, One License’ policy, strengthening alignment with RERA frameworks, and expanding educational initiatives for advisors. The organization also plans to develop a digital platform to facilitate seamless transactions and increase engagement with government stakeholders to further the growth of India’s real estate brokerage sector.
