Noida International Airport Set to Launch Commercial Operations on June 15

Greater Noida, May 1, 2026: Noida International Airport (NIA) announced today that it will begin commercial flight operations on June 15, 2026. This follows the airport’s inauguration by the Prime Minister and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. The facility will serve passengers and cargo across the National Capital Region and North India.The launch date was confirmed after the Bureau of Civil Aviation Security approved the Aerodrome Security Program (ASP).
This certification ensures that “the airport’s security framework, systems and operating procedures are in place in line with regulatory requirements, ahead of the launch of commercial services.” The airport is now moving from the construction phase to operational readiness.IndiGo is scheduled to operate the first flight from the airport. Other airlines, including Akasa Air and Air India Express, will start their services shortly after.
Airport officials stated that “further details on schedules, destinations, and passenger services will be shared in due course.”The airport was developed by Yamuna International Airport Private Limited (YIAPL), a subsidiary of Zurich Airport International AG. The project intends to combine “Swiss efficiency and Indian hospitality.” Currently, the airport has one runway and one terminal designed for 12 million passengers per year, with plans to expand to 70 million passengers annually over the next 40 years.
Officials noted that the start of operations is a step toward “strengthening regional connectivity, supporting economic development, and creating new opportunities for tourism, trade, and investment across the wider region.” The airport is also working toward an “ambitious net zero emissions goal supported by sustainable design and operations principles.”
