UP RERA Launches Real Estate Agent Training Programme to Boost Professional Standards

Lucknow, July 9, 2026: The Uttar Pradesh Real Estate Regulatory Authority (UP RERA) has launched its 43rd Real Estate Agent Training Programme as part of an ongoing initiative to make the state’s real estate sector more professional, efficient, and accountable. The four-day training event commenced on Wednesday at the Indian Literacy Board in Lucknow, drawing 51 participants from various districts across the state who aspire to become certified and registered real estate agents. The programme was formally inaugurated online by UP RERA Chairman Sanjay Bhoosreddy, while the ceremonial lamp lighting was performed on-site by Secretary Mahendra Verma, Principal Advisor Abrar Ahmad, Finance Consultant Sudhanshu Tripathi, Joint Secretary K.K. Singh, and AD System Amrish Kumar, UP RERA said in a press release.
Addressing the inaugural session, Chairman Sanjay Bhoosreddy stated that this system of training and certification is a strong step towards making the real estate sector in the state more disciplined, accountable, and compliant with regulations. He informed the attendees that during the training programme, participants would be provided with detailed and practical knowledge regarding important provisions, rules, and regulations related to the RERA Act. Making training and certification mandatory before agent registration is a core pillar of UP RERA’s broader policy to elevate professional standards and safeguard the interests of homebuyers.
Reflecting on the historical challenges that have plagued the property market, the Chairman stated that their adverse impact had affected promoters, agents, and home-buyers alike. It was in this background that RERA was established with the objective of ensuring transparency, accountability, and protection of consumer interests. He clarified that an examination would be conducted after completion of the training programme, and certificates would be awarded to successful participants. Only thereafter would they become eligible for registration as licensed real estate agents. He further stated that the objective of UP RERA is not only to ensure compliance with rules but also to establish a transparent, trustworthy, and accountable real estate system in Uttar Pradesh, thereby strengthening public confidence in the sector.
The comprehensive curriculum began immediately on the first day, featuring an in-depth session conducted by Principal Advisor Abrar Ahmed on the “RERA Act, UP RERA Rules and Regulations.” Subsequent sessions covered the detailed processes of project registration, the core responsibilities of promoters, and various crucial aspects of regulatory compliance. Concluding the first day, the Assistant Inspector General (AIG) of Registration for Lucknow led the final sessions focusing on the relevant provisions of stamp and registration duties.
