CREDAI Charts Roadmap Beyond Construction at General Body Meeting
Mamallapuram, August 7, 2026: The Confederation of Real Estate Developers’ Associations of India (CREDAI) convened its first General Body Meeting for FY 2026–27 in Mamallapuram, Tamil Nadu, establishing a strategic roadmap that expands the real estate sector’s focus beyond basic construction toward sustainability, technology, and workforce welfare.
The national meeting brought together CREDAI National Office Bearers, State Presidents, Committee Conveners, and over 125 members from across the country to review progress and set priorities. Key focus areas included legal affairs, finance, research, urban planning, and policy advocacy. During the proceedings, the apex real estate body reaffirmed its commitment to supporting the country’s Viksit Bharat 2047 vision articulated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, while pledging continued engagement with governments on taxation, approval reforms, ease of doing business, and affordable housing, CREDAI said in a press release.
Environmental sustainability formed a core pillar of the discussions under CREDAI’s Green Bharat Mission. The organisation highlighted the completion of plantation and conservation work across 6,000 acres in the Western Ghats region of Maharashtra near Nashik district, alongside CREDAI NCR’s ongoing 150-acre Matri Van ecological restoration project. Similar regional chapters across the country are currently undertaking local conservation efforts in collaboration with municipal bodies and state governments.
Addressing labor welfare and capacity building, the association underscored its ongoing skill development initiatives for construction workers. During the current financial year, CREDAI provided formal skill training to over 2,500 construction workers, while reaching more than 37,600 workers through Labour Day and Gratitude Week initiatives aimed at enhancing employability and workplace opportunities.To foster smart city development and site safety, CREDAI also detailed new partnerships with academic institutions and state governments to explore digital solutions, including AI-enabled drone technology for fire safety, faster project approvals, and modern construction techniques.

While catalysing urban growth, the industry is contributing to skill development, sustainability, technology adoption and community welfare. As the apex body representing the sector, CREDAI will continue to encourage these initiatives, facilitate collaboration and work with governments to support planned urbanisation and sustainable city development,” said Shekhar Patel, President, CREDAI.
The assembly concluded with CREDAI reasserting its intention to serve as a long-term partner in national development, aligning private sector real estate growth with sustainable and future-ready urban infrastructure.
