Noida too celebrates Raahgiri
The Noida Authority, with its promise of ‘clean, green and healthy Noida’ campaign, came out with the first-ever Raahgiri in Sector 18 on Sunday.
By 5.30 on a pleasant morning, the anchors at Raahgiri Noida had commenced with the show on the main road opposite the Great India Mall and started gearing up the crowd for what turned out to be a three-hour extravaganza. At 6, the crowd was roaring to launch its fun assault on the road. To mark the International Yoga Day, the event kick-started with a Yoga session for the Raahgirs present there. .
After an hour-long session, the crowd was presented with dance and music performances where they celebrated the World Music Day by performing Zumba and sang along with the music band Roots. While the dance and music performances were on, the road was filled with children playing football, badminton, cycling, skipping, painting, running and enjoying on the every inch of space made available to them.
Then, the man behind the show, Rama Raman, the CEO of Noida and Greater Noida authorities came to the venue in workout outfit. He even kicked and bounced a few footballs besides encouraging plantation of trees. Welcoming the gathering, Raman said, “We are extremely pleased and happy to see such a gathering here today. The message through this initiative is very clear: to make sure that Noida gets clean, green and healthy.”
The event witnessed a gathering of around 2,500 people from across Noida and other neighbouring regions.
