Paucity of land in Delhi has made DDA to come up with the land pooling policy. When it is implemented, there will be more supply of property in the housing market of Delhi. About 40,000 acres of land or 1.5 million apartments will be launched over the next 3-4 years in the city. With supply coming in, price escalation will be checked in the long run in nearby area of Delhi. However, one should not forget that while places like surrounding Delhi may have initially flourished because of sparse availability in Delhi but they have a life of their own and are nowhere behind in terms of infrastructure and development.
