Ashiana Housing Conclave Highlights Community-Centric Retirement Living
Gurugram, April 30, 2025: Real estate developer Ashiana Housing Ltd has successfully hosted the 1st Senior Living Conclave 2025 at The Leela Ambience Gurugram Hotel & Residences. The conclave highlighted a significant shift in the perception of retirement living in India. It is increasingly being viewed not as a fallback necessity but as a proactive, emotionally fulfilling lifestyle choice.

Led by Joint Managing Director, Ashiana Housing Ltd Ankur Gupta, the event witnessed strong participation from seniors. Discussions reflected a growing consensus that the purpose of senior living is evolving beyond healthcare and assistance, towards enabling active, independent, and socially engaging lives for seniors.
One of the key outcomes from the conclave was the recognition that COVID-19 had fundamentally shifted perceptions around senior living communities. Attendees and speakers highlighted how safety, community support, healthcare access, and mental wellness have become top priorities for families evaluating post-retirement options. The conclave also shed light on the emotional readiness required for transitioning into senior living, emphasizing that the right time to move is not determined by age alone, but by the desire to lead a connected and purposeful life.
Another important insight that emerged was the role of senior living communities in countering loneliness and depression. Participants shared that well-planned communities, through social activities, wellness programs, and peer engagement, help residents maintain both physical health and emotional vitality, leading to a more fulfilling retirement journey.
Gupta emphasized that senior living is no longer only about care, but about offering dignity, joy, and freedom. He said, “Senior living today is about creating environments where seniors can thrive independently, stay active, and continue to enjoy meaningful social interactions. We believe this is the future of retirement in India.”
The conclave further reinforced that choosing the right senior living community involves thoughtful consideration of emotional, social, and healthcare needs, rather than simply looking at amenities or infrastructure. This marks a maturing approach among families and seniors, who are now seeking places that offer a sense of belonging, security, and an active lifestyle. With over 450 participants engaging in candid conversations, the Senior Living Conclave 2025 demonstrated the growing realization that retirement living can be an empowering, enriching phase of life.
