New Delhi, July 6, 2026: Water and wastewater treatment specialist Enviro Infra Engineers Limited has secured two engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) contracts under the Hybrid Annuity Model (HAM) from Uttar Pradesh Jal Nigam (Rural). Worth a combined ₹256.92 crore, the projects are funded under the central government’s flagship Namami Gange Programme. This expansion brings the company’s total HAM portfolio to five active infrastructure developments across India, Enviro Infra Engineers said in a press release.

Under the terms of the agreements, the company will develop 45 million liters per day (MLD) and 60 MLD sewage treatment plants along with their associated infrastructure. The scope of work also requires the developer to manage the operations and maintenance of the installations for a 15-year period. The first project, located at Pt. Deen Dayal Upadhyay Nagar, holds a value of ₹126.78 crore, while the second facility, located at Lohta in Varanasi, is valued at ₹130.14 crore, with both contract values excluding GST.

The engineering blueprint focuses heavily on operational sustainability by incorporating integrated renewable energy systems. The facilities are designed to process sludge generated during treatment into biogas, which will power gas generators to fulfill electricity needs on-site. Additionally, the plants will utilize ground and rooftop solar panels to generate daytime power, lowering overall lifecycle operating costs, cutting carbon emissions, and addressing waste management simultaneously.

Company leadership noted that the assignment aligns with India’s ongoing efforts to clean the Ganga basin and modernize public utilities. On the development, Sanjay Jain, Chairman, Enviro Infra Engineers Limited, said: “We are proud to have been entrusted with these significant projects by Uttar Pradesh Jal Nigam (Rural) under Namami Gange Programme. Our focus remains on delivering high-quality, sustainable, and timely solutions that contribute to the nation’s water management and sanitation goals. We are committed to maintaining the highest standards of engineering and execution.”

Company officials confirmed that in-principle approvals for the necessary corporate term loans have already been granted. This financial arrangement ensures the developer can reach timely financial closure and initiate seamless construction mobilization at both project sites without delay.
