HC forfeits the authority of Raman to continue as head of authorities
The Allahabad High Court on Friday forfeited the authority of Rama Raman as the Chairman of Noida, Greater Noida and Yamuna authorities. The court has questioned why Raman was appointed as the head of three authorities in the region despite the availability of so many capable officers.
The HC has set up a committee headed by the Chief Secretary of Uttar Pradesh to take a decision within two weeks about the transfer of Raman Raman. The court has sought an affidavit regarding the committee’s decision. The next hearing of the court is scheduled for July 20.
The decision of the Bench, headed by Justices Arun Tandon and Sunita Aggarwal, on a public interest petition filed by Akhil Bhartiya Manav Kalyan Seva Sansthan and one Jitendra Kumar Goel. Representatives of the state Government and Noida Authority contested the merit of the petition but seeing the seriousness of the process, the court rejected their arguments.
